I know the whole country is in a heat wave but these last few days have been the worst I can ever remember. Here in Texas they give both the temperature and the "heat index". The heat index is a combination of the heat and humidity that yields what is called a "feels like" temperature. Here in Texas the heat index will be 111 degree this afternoon.
How hot is that?
Its so hot the local college is thinking of changing it's team names to the Humidity.
Its so hot cows have been giving powdered milk and hens have been laying hard boiled eggs.
Its so hot we go to McDonalds and pour hot coffee in our laps, to cool off.
Its so hot we argue over who gets to sit in the other person's shadow.
Its so hot my daughter got her tongue sunburned by talking too much outside.
Its so hot a Speedo is now considered formal attire.
Sorry, the heat got to me for a minute.

Coming from the Great State of Oklahoma, where the wind that comes sweepin' off the Plain is usually more like the breath of Hell, I would say that you forgot:
It's so hot, the birds have to use absetos beaks to pull the worms from the ground.
It's so hot that the trees are whistling for the dogs.
I can't be witty like Ms. Cornelius, but THANK YOU for making me laugh. The extreme heat in South. NV has driven me to tears (quickly dried by the hair dryer-like breeze) a few times in the last few years. I'll try to laugh more! It might have a cooling effect.
Hey Mike, at least the temperature down here is still only in the triple digits, right?
Whining and complaining....come on over to where I live....yesterday was about 110 degrees, plus some humidity! And idiot here was out working in it! But my yard is looking a bit nicer.
